Our mission:
The mission of the Nutrition and Wellness Research Center is to enhance human wellness through research and educational activities that explore dietary intake, physical activity, and health-related behaviors as they influence disease risk. In partnership with food and health-related industries, the NWRC aims to create new, economically viable strategies using foods and food ingredients, exercise, and health-related behavioral changes to build a healthier Iowa, nation, and world.
Our researchers:
- include scientists from multiple disciplines and industry
- conduct interdisciplinary wellness-related research using exercise, dietary, and/or behavioral interventions
- conduct fundamental research using cell biology and animal models
